Secondary school at ‘Notre Dame des Apôtres’ NDA College, in Lomé. Studies that, I successfully completed by obtaining my school leaving certificate. The interest and passion that I have in Journalism, made me fly to osagyefo Dr Kwame N’Krumah land where I pursued Journalism and Media Studies, sanctioned by a Diploma in a private University Trans Africa College. A year before, to better my English skills, I passed my Certificate in Proficiency with distinction, at ‘International Centre for Professional Studies (ICPS)’, in order to enable me be, a bilingual journalist. Though coming from a French, I was able to work with one of Ghana private local based newspaper ‘The Insight’, a bi-weekly at that time, for almost a year.
Back to my Togo, I worked for various media houses. The first of them with which I started, was Radio Nostalgie (now called Legende Fm), where I worked as reporter and news presenter. The skills that I built during my courses were one of the major factors that helped me host many programs concerning political, environmental, social issues. As time move on, I had to move from there.
Being in a radio station for full time,s did not prevent me writing for writing for newspapers. The first of them in which I signed my name was ‘Nouvelle Ere’. Later on, I have been with ‘Info Sud’ as a news editor, with ‘L’Independant Express’ and an online media ‘Acp Inter’ as a web journalist. I had the opportunity to boost my skill with various seminar workshops and seminar which I attended in my country and abroad. The latest one was in Accra, Ghana, on ‘Freedom and Responsibility in Media’ organized by the ‘International Institute for Journalism of InWent’.
Now, Sylvio Combey is the President of Journalists Tourism Association (AJT) in Togo, member of Journalist for Freedom and Responsibility in Media (JOFREM) an ECOWAS organization, General Secretary of Science Journalists end Communicators of Togo (JCS), and member of Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) in Togo.
